Type Locality

Tributary to Amite River, 0.5 mile (0.8 km) north of Ethel, East Feliciana Parish, Louisiana.

Range

Mississippi and Louisiana in "the Lake Pontchartrain drainage area plus the Pearl and Pascagoula rivers" (Penn, 1957:258).

Habitat

Rapid and sluggish streams.
